Based in the heart of Brixton, the Baytree Centre is an educational charity dedicated to empowering over 1,000 women and girls each year. Rooted in the principles of Catholic Social Teaching, the organization provides a vital support system to help families navigate complex challenges, including homelessness, substandard housing, and language barriers. By addressing these "Adverse Childhood Experiences" and community-wide obstacles, the Centre creates a stable foundation where local residents can begin to move past systemic limitations and truly thrive.
The Centre’s approach focuses on a holistic blend of education, vocational training, and professional employability skills designed to boost confidence and raise personal aspirations. A cornerstone of their success is the integration of social mobility mentoring, a science-based, trauma-informed intervention that pairs tailored learning with one-on-one guidance. This professional yet relational strategy equips women and girls with the tools to overcome specific life hurdles, helping them recognize their inherent worth while building a brighter, more secure future for themselves and the wider community.

I feel very happy to have my daughter attending Baytree Centre regularly. Baytree Centre is a charity that supports young girls to achieve their goals. My daughter for example loves to take part in most of their educational and extra curricular activities that they provided.
They have the right tools and resources to support the young girls on their journey to learn and achieve their goals.
The activities are fun and my daughter seems to love it! I really recommend it to anyone .
They are always revising, improving and up dating their educational program with excellent activities for both mothers and daughters.

Really good service for women and girls, located near brixton/Kennington Oval. The staff team are really friendly and there is a great provision of services. My daughter has been using the service since she was 9 years old, (she is now 11 years old). She has enjoyed their holiday activities such as: swimming, cinema, clay crafts and visits to the local park. She has undertaken a sewing class, but particularly loved doing the 'Mother and Daughter Saturday Cooking' sessions. She loved learning many new dishes and picking up valuable cookery skills. My daughter currently has a Baytree maths mentor who is supporting her in her final year at primary school, and to successfully get through her SATs. I am very appreciative of the Baytree service and would recommend Baytree to others.
